Working on the right lines, even at the height of tournaments Katrina Keenan - 8 December 2000
Friday 8 December 2000 Tomorrow we play India at the BIL Oval. We are looking forward to the encounter and the build up to this weekend's game has gone extremely well. Today we had a high intensity fielding session indoors and then headed out to Burnham for a net session. Batters either had throw downs or a net whilst bowlers continued to work on lines to left and right-handed batters. We arrived back to find Cate our manager preparing lunch for us which was a welcome change to the packed lunch we have had in recent times. Fresh rolls, cold meats, salad fillings, fruit and some liquid refreshments – very nice for a change. We had some free time this afternoon and I enjoyed a much needed mid- afternoon snooze which is completely out of character for me. However, I think the stress involved in tinting Nic Payne's eye lashes last night had took its toll on me. I am happy to report that it was a successful operation, the procedure taking just 15 minutes with no obvious side effects reported. A cyber cafe has been set up for players and officials at the student union hall and this has proved extremely popular. A number of action shots from the tournament are now on display for purchase and this is creating a lot of interest amongst the players. Tomorrow New Zealand's top four secondary school girls cricket teams arrive in Christchurch to take part in the finals of the Yoplait Cup. All four teams will be at the game tomorrow to support the Clear White Ferns and following the game we have invited all the players to a team BBQ. © CricInfo
