It was the 1629th ODI in cricket history.
It was New Zealand's 353rd and Zimbabwe's 160th ODI match.
It was the 21st match between these two sides. The record now reads: New Zealand 14, Zimbabwe 5, tied one and abandoned one.
Umpires Jeff Fenwick and Ian Robinson officiated in their second and 76th match respectively.
Roger Twose on 13, completed his 2000 runs in ODIs in his 66th match (62nd innings). He became the 11th New Zealander and 90th batsman overall to do so. By taking 62 innings to reach this landmark, Twose became the second quickest among New Zealanders after Andrew Jones who crossed 2000 runs in his 53rd innings.
The opening stand of 97 runs between Campbell and Marillier is the best for the first wicket on this ground. This obliterates the previous best of 96 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Romesh Kaluwitharana for Sri Lanka against Zimbabwe on 11-12-1999.
Alistair Campbell became the second Zimbabwean after Andy Flower to make a score of 99. He also provided the 12th such instance in ODI history. Campbell also became only the fifth batsman to remain unbeaten on this score after New Zealand's Bruce Edgar (v India at Auckland on 14-02-1981), Australia's Dean Jones (v Sri Lanka at Adelaide on 28-01-1985), West Indies' Richie Richardson (v Pakistan at Sharjah on 15-11-1985 and fellow Zimbabwean Andy Flower (v Australia at Harare on 24-10-1999).
Campbell's innings is the highest for Zimbabwe against New Zealand in Zimbabwe. This obliterates his own 96 made just a day before.
Campbell has now scored 628 runs in 17 matches against New Zealand which makes him the leading run scorer for Zimbabwe against New Zealand moving ahead of Andy Flower's tally of 589 runs from 19 matches.
Shayne O'Connor has now taken 16 wickets in 9 matches against Zimbabwe- most for New Zealand. He moved ahead of Chris Harris who has taken 15 wickets from 14 matches.
Campbell also achieved the unique distinction of scoring two back to back 'nineties'.
Campbell won the Man of the Match award for the fifth time in his career.
