Umpire Hair dropped from Sri Lanka's ICC matches

COLOMBO - Australian cricket umpire Darrell Hair won't be calling any of Sri Lanka's matches in the ICC trophy in Kenya following a protest from the island's cricket board.

The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka says it has lodged a protest over Hair, who called their star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan for throwing during a Test match in Melbourne in 1995.

The International Cricket Council has re-assigned umpires for the second round of the tournament to avoid Hair officiating a match involving Sri Lanka.
