Bracewell extends contract Gloucestershire C.C.C. press release - 10 October 2000
Gloucestershire have announced today that John Bracewell has extended his contract with the club, and has taken up the wider role of Director of cricket. He will retain direct responsibility for coaching the 1st XI but will also oversee the club's development and youth coaching programme. Andy Stovold will remain as Director of Development reporting to John Bracewell. The new appointment will be effective from 1st November. Colin Sexstone, Chief Executive, says: "We are absolutely delighted to retain the services of John Bracewell who has proved himself not only to be a world class coach, but also an excellent manager. In the new role he will still have a "hands-on" role with the 1st XI but will also ensure that the club's extensive development programme is directed to the needs of the professional game. This is a vital appointment in the club's long term plans." John Bracewell says: "I have thoroughly enjoyed working and living in Bristol and Gloucestershire and view this extended appointment as a new challenge in my own personal development. Over the next three and a half years we aim to establish the club as one of the leading county sides in England, in one-day and championship cricket. © CricInfo Ltd.
