Haryana quickly in command Partab Ramchand - 11 October 2000
Haryana were in a position of considerable strength at stumps on the first day of their three day North Zone Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) match against Delhi at the Maharata Aggarsain stadium in Rohtak on Tuesday. After dismissing Delhi for 85 runs, Haryana replied with 159 for three wickets. Opting to bat, Delhi fared badly against the medium paced bowling of Nitin Aggarwal and were shot out in 42.2 overs after three hours of batting time. TT Dilip with 20 was the top scorer. Aggarwal took five for 44 from 13 overs. Amit Mishra, who had the remarkable figures of 12.2-9-4-2 and Gaurav Vashistha (2 for 19) gave him good support. Haryana's reply was sustained by a fine unbeaten 80 by opening batsman and wicketkeeper Manvinder Bisla. By close, he had faced 121 balls and hit eight fours and two sixes. With Sumeet Sharma (52 off 93 balls with five fours), Bisla added 114 runs for the third wicket off 29.4 overs after two wickets had fallen for 26 runs. © CricInfo
