CBI completes report on match fixing The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has completed its report into the inquiry on the match fixing scandal and is likely to submit it to the Government as soon as the Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, SS Dhindsa returns from his foreign tour. Press Trust of India reported on Wednesday that the report has already been cleared by the legal department and added that four Indian players are believed to have been named in the report. According to sources, the CBI had not yet decided whether it would file a first information report (FIR) on the basis of its findings or pursue certain angles of investigation. The agency said that the CBI has so far recorded statements of nearly 200 people including former Indian captain Kapil Dev, BCCI president AC Muthiah, secretary JY Lele, treasurer Kishore Rungta, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary Sunil Dev, former BCCI president IS Bindra, Ajit Wadekar, and several other cricketers as well as alleged book makers. including Mukesh Gupta. BCCI announces dates for India-Zimbabwe Tests The executive secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sharad Diwadkar on Wednesday announced the dates of the two Tests between India and Zimbabwe to be played in November. Speaking to United News of India (UNI), Diwadkar said that the first Test is to be played at Delhi from November 18 to 22 while the second is to be held at Nagpur from November 25 to 29. He added that the dates for the warm up matches and the one day games have not yet been finalised and said it would be done soon. Diwadkar said that the itinerary for the forthcoming Australian tour of India, which would follow the Zimbabwean tour in February has also not been finalised. Tamil Nadu team for Cooch Behar tie The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association have retained Vidyuth Sivaramakrishnan as the skipper of the Tamil Nadu Under-19 team which would be playing Hyderabad in the South Zone Cooch-Behar Trophy tournament at Hyderabad from October 14 to 16. The Tamil Nadu-Hyderbad encounter will be the last league match for Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu so far have garnered 13 points from four matches.
