Installation of TV screen at NSK begins 13 October 2000
Karachi, Oct 12: The installation of giant television replays screen and digital scoreboard began at the National Stadium here on Thursday. The equipment for the Qadhafi and Rawalpindi Cricket stadia was flown out on Thursday where the istallation is expected to start next week. The customs authorities at the Quaid-i-Azam International Airport released the US$ 2 million supplies after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave an under-taking to settle the import duty later. According to an estimate, Rs 25 million duty has been clamped on the materials imported from Malaysia. A Malaysian technician supported by local experts was seen working on the installation. The experts have given a week's time before it becomes operational. The National Stadium will host four matches, including the first one-day international (on Oct 24) and the third and final Test (from Dec 7 to 11), in the forthcoming series against England.
