The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka is keenly anticipating a record contract for its Tv and sponsorship rights for a three-year period to be signed shortly.

The Pre-qualification stage for this most lucrative contract in the history of Sri Lankan sports to date has just been closed.

The Executive Committee of the BCCSL, at a meeting held last evening (9th October 2000) short-listed 09 potential Companies of the initial 52 contacted.

The closing date for the final bids is the 20th October 2000.

The Executive Committee will meet on the 24th October 2000 to evaluate and award the rights to its new partner(s).

This prospective three - year 'cash rich' deal, will set a new record is sports contracts in Sri Lanka.

In the context of Sri Lanka's present climate, it is indeed heartening to know that cricket continues to thrive and stride beyond all 'boundaries'.
