CBI interim report to be tabled in Parliament
The interim report on match-fixing to be submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to the Union Minister of Sports SS Dhindsa this week will be tabled in Parliament next month. Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, Dhindsa said "the CBI's interim report on match-fixing in cricket will be tabled in Parliament during the winter session, beginning in November. Parliament witnessed an uproar over the match-fixing issue and hence the report would be tabled there during the session."

The Minister said the CBI was likely to submit the report to the Government later this week. To a question on whether any action would be initiated against those named in the report, Dhindsa said "let me first read the report. We will think of the future course of action only after that."

CBI to probe bungling in TV rights
After completing its investigations in the match-fixing scam, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sources said on Monday that the agency would go into the details of allotment of television rights and find whether any bungling had been committed or a particular firm had been favoured, quotes PTI. CBI sources said that the Anti-Corrpution Unit (ACU) of the agency, which did some preliminary investigation into the allotment rights, has gathered some evidence.

CBI sources said the probe would mainly deal with two issues - allotment of TV rights from 1996 onwards and money made by middle men, event managers and other officials from these rights. The investigation follows the report submitted by the former BCCI president IS Bindra who alleged that there were some bungling in the allotment of rights, role of middlemen etc.
