VSO invites you to an evening with John Major VSO Media Release - 25 October 2000
This is a unique and unmissable opportunity to hear the reflections of a cricket-loving former Prime Minister in an exclusive and prestigious setting. Sue Cameron will interview John Major about his life and career. The interview will cover John Major’s belief in, and enthusiasm for, VSO’s Overseas Training Programme, which he helped launch in 1992. There will be an opportunity for questions from the floor in the second half of the evening. Date 22 November 2000 Doors open 6.30pm Talk starts 7.00pm The evening will be held in a prestigious building in the City, details of which will be sent to you no sooner than Wednesday 15th November for reasons of security. All proceeds for the evening will go towards The China Exchange Programme, part of the Overseas Training Programme (OTP), which funds and co-ordinates placements in developing countries for young British students in higher education. The programme aims to increase the pool of young British people who are motivated and able to contribute in their future lives in a practical way to assist people in developing countries. There will be a raffle on the night, with the following fantastic prizes are to be won; · Return flights for two to Beijing donated by Air China, plus 3 nights' accommodation in Beijing courtesy of the Shangri-La Hotel and Resorts. · Return flights to Germany with Lufthansa · Afternoon tea for two at the Four Seasons Hotel, London Tickets will only be sold on the night and drawn by John Major at the end of the evening.
