PCB to lose 15m if India cancels winter tour

Press Trust of India (PTI) quoting the Pakistan newspaper Dawn reported on Saturday that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are set to lose around 15 million dollars inclusive of 4.5 million dollars from TV rights in case of India's withdrawal from the proposed winter tour of Pakistan.

Quoting a PCB official, PTI said that the BCCI earned 80 million dollars during the Pakistan tour to India but with the winter series in doubt, the PCB might not be in a position to earn some money. Moreover, the agency said that the PCB would suffer an estimated 60 million dollars loss if the ICC's ten-year itinerary was approved and the cricketing relations between the two countries didn't improve.

Quoting the source, the agency said that the ICC officials have been informally told by the PCB that the board would suffer huge financial losses if they have been drawn to host India three times. The source added that the board is willing to tour India anytime which would ultimately end up as a huge financial success for the BCCI. The source further said that the PCB will agree to the 10-year itinerary only if ICC guarantees India fulfilling its commitments to tour Pakistan, failing which the BCCI or the ICC will have to compensate the PCB.
