Dressing room damage accidental, says Match Referee
Andy Jalil - 31 October 2000

No disciplinary action will be taken following reports that the England captain, Nasser Hussain caused some damage in the England dressing room during yesterday's One Day International against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. Hussain had expressed disappointment with the lbw decision given against him.

The matter was brought to the attention of the match referee, Barry Jarman, who said today that the damage to a refrigerator door and to a glass door was accidental, and therefore no official disciplinary action will be taken.

The England Team Manager, Phil Neale and Media Manager Andy Walpole also said that the damage was accidental. An offer was made by the England team management to pay for the repair but the ground authorities turned it down and the matter is considered closed.

Meanwhile the England team are preparing for a four-day match beginning tomorrow here in Rawalpindi against Patron's XI.
