Pakistan captain Waqar Younis said on Wednesday that the team picked for Sharjah Cup was not balance on paper but hopes that it would deliver the goods.

The team leaves for Sharjah on Thursday at 11.30 am. New Zealand and Sri Lanka are other teams are in the tournament. Waqar said that obviously there was no alternative of experience, but keeping in mind the future of Pakistan cricket, the youngsters should be given opportunities to prove their worth.

The skipper noted that the Farhat brothers, Imran and Humayun, Shoaib Malik,Kashif Raza, Mohammad Sami and Yasir Arafat were all promising youngsters and are capable of lifting Pakistan on the victory stand.

He avoided to comment on the strength of the other teams competing.

"It is not a matter for me if Sri Lanka andNewZealand are stronger or weaker rivals.We have to emphasis only on our performance against them," he commented.

Team manager Yawar Saeed said that a coachforthis tourwasnotnecessary as the team has to play a maximum of five matches.

But he added that the cricket has to appoint a coach after the Sharjah Cup.

Yawar added that Waqarwasanexperienced cricketer and had the ability to provide technicalcoachingto the players.

He supported the appointment of Waqar as captain.

"I have toured with Waqar Younis twice andfoundhima cooperative man," the manager said.
