ABL clinch low scoring encounter 14 April 2001
Allied Bank Limited (ABL) defeated Wapda by seven runs in a low scoring match in the one-day tournament played at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala. ABL, batting first, were dismissed for 134 in 48 overs. But the bankers struck back to bowl out Wapda for 123 in 45.4 overs. Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif was the top scorer of the match with 58. His struck five boundaries in his 95-ball vigil at the crease. However, it was Wapda paceman Sarfaraz Ahmad who emerged as the most successful bowler with figures of five for 19. © Dawn
