Moin Khan left out of Pakistan probables for England tour Stephen Lamb - 24 April 2001
Moin Khan, the Pakistan captain in last winter's Test series against England, has been left out of the list of 20 probable members of the squad to travel to England for a two-match Test series next month. Rashid Latif, who hasn't played Test cricket since March 1998, is the one specialist wicket-keeper included. Two spin bowlers who featured in the winter series against England, Danish Kaneria and Arshad Khan, are also missing. But veteran leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed is included, alongside Saqlain Mushtaq. Skipper Waqar Younis is joined on the list by Shoaib Akhtar, former captain Wasim Akram and Mohammad Sami, who impressed on Pakistan's recent tour of New Zealand. The Pakistan Cricket Board say selection of the final squad of 16 players will depend of the fitness of some of the players on the probables list. The full list is as follows: Saeed Anwar, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Wasim, Imran Nazir, Shahid Afridi, Faisal Iqbal, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yousuf Youhana, Younis Khan, Saleem Elahi, Abdur Razzaq, Azhar Mahmood, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis (captain), Shoaib Akhtar, Fazl-e-Akbar, Mohammad Sami, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed and Rashid Latif. © CricInfo Ltd.
