West Indies to tour Sri Lanka in November CricInfo - 24 August 2001
The West Indies cricket team will arrive in Sri Lanka on the November 1 to play a three-match Test series and a one-day tri-series, which also involves Zimbabwe. This is the first full tour that the West Indies have made to Sri Lanka. In their only other tour since Sri Lanka attained full ICC Test status, in 1993, they played just one Test, and one ODI. The West Indies will warm up for the Tests with two three day games, the first in Colombo and the second in Matara, before the first Test at Galle International Stadium (14-18th November). The second Test Match will be in Kandy (23-27th November) and final Test in Colombo (1- 5th December). Straight after the Tests the tri-series with Zimbabwe will commence. Zimababwe will remain in Sri Lanka after the tri-series for a three-Test tour. Full intinerary:
