Tamil Nadu plays out a slow third day Staff Reporter - 13 December 2001
Tamil Nadu inched their way to 276/7 at the end of the third day of their Ranji Trophy league match against Hyderabad at Chennai on Wednesday. Overnight on 107/2, Tamil Nadu added only 169 runs in the day. This was due largely to batsmen taking up a defensive attitude when the side was reeling at 128/5. Sridharan Sharath and TR Arasu rescued Tamil Nadu from that position, with Sharath falling only with the score on 245, having put on 117 runs. He made 69 off 203 balls, striking seven fours. The only other wicket to fall in the day was that of Ashish Kapoor. At the close of play, Arasu was unbeaten on 68 off 230, while MR Srinivas was unbeaten on 4 off 42 balls. For Hyderabad, Narender Pal Singh took 4-84. © CricInfo
