State Auckland Aces team for round three State Championship match
Auckland Cricket Association - 16 December 2001
State Auckland Aces coach and convener of selectors, Tony Sail, has this afternoon named a changed team to play the State Otago Volts in a round three State Championship match starting at Carisbrook on Tuesday.
A number of changes have been forced on the team due to injury and unavailability.
The team includes the return of Black Cap all-rounder, Dion Nash, named for the first time this season, and batsman Llorne Howell.
Not considered for selection were Adam Parore, Mark Richardson, Lou Vincent and Chris Drum, all on Test duty with the Black Caps in Hamilton.
Auckland Cricket is currently negotiating the release of Drum for the State Championship match should he not be selected in the Black Cap playing eleven.
Unavailable for selection were Richard Pudney and Sam Whiteman because of injury, and Mark Haslam and Richard Morgan for personal and work commitments.
The State Auckland Aces currently lie second on the points table with seven points after two rounds, but have the opportunity to overtake the State Canterbury Wizards with an outright win in this match.
The State Auckland Aces team named to play the State Otago Volts is:
Brooke Walker (captain)
Andre Adams
Aaron Barnes
Tama Canning
Matt Horne
Nick Horsley
Llorne Howell
Tim McIntosh
Kyle Mills
Dion Nash
Rob Nicol
Reece Young
