Nash suspended for three matches Wisden CricInfo staff - December 21, 2001
HAMILTON, New Zealand (Reuters) New Zealand Cricket chief executive Martin Snedden said in Hamilton after the fourth day of the Bangladesh Test, that Nash had abused umpire David Quested and an unidentified Otago player while playing for Auckland. Snedden said he would not comment on the ruling because Nash could launch an appeal. The allrounder was making his comeback after being sidelined from the recent Australian tour with a side strain. Nash will miss one four-day championship match and two one-day competition matches. The ban could cost Nash a place in the New Zealand one-day squad which will be returning to Australia for a triangular series also involving South Africa. The squad will be announced on January 3, the day Nash's suspension ends.
