Victoria High School cricket results Jax Shumbaimwe - 2 February 2001
The games were played in Chiredzi at South Eastern College (SEC) and at Mkwasine Sports Club. Vic High left Masvingo at 0600h and arrived at 0910h. 1. First Teams The first team games were played at Mkwasine Sports Club and play had to be stopped after three overs as the pitch got so wet that play was difficult. The game was later continued at SEC that afternoon after the U16 boys game was finished by 1300h. Victoria High batted first and had 11 runs in those 3 overs played at Mkwasine without loss. When the game resumed at SEC, Vic High continued batting for 13 overs in 45 minutes and made 67 runs all out. SEC in 45 minutes made 71 runs for 3 wickets. Vic's best scorer was Elliot Rutsate with 16 runs and the best bowler was Jemton Chinyengetere who took two wickets. SEC's highest scorer was Darlington Chaduka with 34 runs and their best bowler was Koti who took 7 wickets. SEC won by seven wickets. Man of the match was Koti.
2. Under-16 Teams These teams played at SEC, using pitch A, and Vic High batted first, making 71 all out. SEC scored 79 runs for six wickets. Victoria High's highest scorer was Jaycee Munhungeyi with 28 runs and the best bowler for Vic High was Tawona Rushwaya, the U16 team captain, who took 3 wickets. SEC's best scorer was Steven Mapaure who made 29 runs and their best bowler was Colin Potgieter, a fast and accurate bowler who took eight wickets. Naturally Colin Potgieter was the man of the match.
3. Under-15 Teams These teams played at SEC, using pitch B, and SEC batted first, scoring 85 runs all out. Vic High managed only 47 runs all out. SEC's highest scorer was Machadu with 24 runs and the best bowler was Godwin who took four wickets. Vic High's top scorer was Tatenda Mahachi who made 16 runs and our best bowler was Phineas Mhlanga who took four wickets. Man of the match was Machadu of SEC.
