Wagh hopes bowling ban will be lifted Staff and agencies - 9 February 2001
Mark Wagh of Warwickshire has spent the winter trying to alter his bowling technique in a bid to have a bowling ban lifted before the start of next season. Batsman Wagh is a part-time off spinner but he was banned from bowling in competitive cricket last November when an ECB panel decided his action was unsatisfactory. Since then, he has been working with Warwickshire's bowling coach Steve Perryman to try to correct the fault. Perryman said: "We have made a slight adjustment to Mark's wrist position, and that seems to have done the trick without us having to re-model his action. "The plan is to get Mark filmed again by the end of the month and ask the ECB to look at it again. "We would like him to be cleared as quickly as possible so that he can relax and get stuck into pre-season training without worrying about his action." © CricInfo Ltd.
