Victoria High School report Jax Shumbaimwe - 9 February 2001
VICTORIA v MARONDERA Our first-team game was played on Jardine Field and these are the results. Marondera High batted first and managed 74 runs, while Vic High made 33 runs. Marondera High won by 41 runs. There was no outstanding batsman on either side but it was different with the ball. Tinashe Chitsaka of Vic High took six wickets for the second time in three outings and Taurai Madhiri of Marondera High followed suit, also taking six wickets. They shared the man of the match award. U-16 GAMES Marondera 67; Victoria 64. Marondera won by 3 runs. Vic High's top batsman was Prince Mukombwa with 15 runs and our best bowler was Terence Mhora who took two wickets. Marondera's top batsman was Panashe Malianga with a brilliant 33; he also emerged as their best bowler, taking three wickets. He was automatically named the man of the match. U-14 GAMES Marondera 101; Victoria 29. Marondera won by 72 runs. The Victoria High School U-14 team was impressive although we lost. This was their first match and the first for most of our players, some of whom have never played cricket before.
