Moxon to join Durham
Yorkshire CCC Media Release - 4 January 2001
Yorkshire have today reluctantly agreed to release Martyn Moxon from his contract as Director of Coaching in order that he can take up the position of First Eleven Coach with Durham.
Bob Platt, Yorkshire's Chairman of Cricket, expressed his regrets at
Martyn's departure but wished him every success in his new role at the Riverside.
Having completed three years on Yorkshire's coaching staff after 17 years as a player Martyn felt it was an ideal opportunity for him to move on to an exciting new challenge and said, "I have enjoyed 20 eventful years at Headingley and leave with many happy memories. It has been a great learning experience since I finished my playing days and I am grateful to the Club for the opportunity of continuing my career in Cricket. It is obviously difficult saying goodbye to so many friends but I wish the Club and the players good luck in the years ahead and look forward to exciting encounters with them in due course."
