Fleming returns to Wellington Cup side to meet Auckland Steve McMorran - 11 January 2001
Black Caps captain Stephen Fleming will return to the Wellington team for their Shell Cup match against Auckland at the Basin Reserve tomorrow. Fleming missed the Shell Trophy match between the teams which ended today, resting after the Test and one-day series against Zimbabwe, but he confirmed his availability for the Cup match after practicing at the Basin this morning. Concerns about the fitness of bowlers Carl Bulfin, who has tendonitis in both knees, and Andrew Penn, who has a foot injury, caused Wellington to name a squad of 13 players for the match, including seven bowlers. Jason Wells, who missed the Trophy match because of work commitments, has also been recalled. Meanwhile, New Zealand wicketkeeper Adam Parore and former international Llorne Howell have been added to Auckland's Cup squad, taking the places of Tim McIntosh and Richard King who appeared in the Trophy match. The teams are: Auckland: Blair Pocock (captain), Llorne Howell, John Aiken, Dion Nash, Lou Vincent, Adam Parore, Brooke Walker, Tama Canning, Kyle Mills, Andre Adams, Chris Drum, Mark Haslam. Wellington: Matthew Bell (captain), Chris Nevin, Richard Jones, Stephen Fleming, Roger Twose, Stephen Mather, Jason Wells, James Franklin, Mark Jefferson, Paul Hitchcock, Matthew Walker, Carl Bulfin, Andrew Penn. © CricInfo
