BCCI to go in for elbow test to end age controversy United News of India (UNI) reported on Sunday that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to conduct elbow examinations to determine the exact age of the cricketers in order to put an end to the overage problem. The report said that the recently concluded Cooch Behar Trophy final was marred by both finalists Madhya Pradesh and Punjab accusing each other of fielding six to seven overaged players. The report went on to say that those found to be overage after the final were all cleared by the Board after conducting tests on them before the selection of the team for the first under-19 `Test' against England in Mumbai. Quoting BCCI joint secretary Jyoti Bajpai, UNI said that all these complaints of players being overage were only rumours and that there was no truth involved in it. The report added that the question, however, remains whether the tests to be conducted would be able to properly determine the age of the players.
