Probables 'B' triumph in U-17 trial match 28 January 2001
Fine performances by Mohammad Altaf and Nadeem Javed helped Probables 'B' to beat Probables 'A' by five runs in an under-17 trial match at the LCCA Ground on Saturday. The match was organised among the probables to pick Pakistan team for the next months Under-17 Asia Cup in Bangladesh. Batting first, Probables 'B' made 214 for nine in 45 overs. Mohammad Altaf stroked 67 off 82 balls with four boundaries and Azam Hussain scored 52 with five fours. The pair put on 101 for the seventh wicket with Altaf. Probables 'A' were all out for 209 in 44 overs. Salman Butt (35), Mohammad Fahim (36), Salman Qadir (33) and Javed Hussain (39) were the main scorers. Pacer Nadeem Javed captured three for 48.
