29 January 2001
Napier's cricketing faithful will have the chance to acknowledge the Shell Cup winning performance of the Central Districts side during the tea break of the New Zealand-Sri Lanka One Day International at McLean Park tomorrow.
The State Insurance Central Stags will be presenting the Cup to the public at around 5.30pm in celebration of their 2-1 win over Canterbury in the final.
CD executive director Blair Furlong said: "It is an opportunity for the Stags to thank their supporters and to show off
the Cup they won at the weekend.
"The team will assemble early on Wednesday, practice as a squad for the
Trophy match on Thursday and then come to McLean Park. In addition the team
will help sell raffle tickets for Mark Douglas's Benefit Year during the
day," he said.
