Pakistan team for Kiwi tour on Friday 29 January 2001
The Pakistan cricket team for the first half of the tour to New Zealand will be announced on Friday. A spokesman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said the selectors have been told to submit the team by the evening so that the squad is released. Chairman of selectors Wasim Bari said: "If we have been given the date to submit the squad, we will do it. "But releasing the team is the prerogative of the board because the teams have to be cleared by the advisory panel." The former captain was, however, not sure the strength of the squad for the tour. "It can be 15 but I am hoping it is 16. But I will check it on Tuesday. We will announce the team keeping in mind the five one-day internationals Pakistan will play in the first phase. For the Test matches, there will be a maximum of two changes," Bari said. © Dawn
