Jeff Hammond to lead coaching seminar Media Release - 27 July 2001
Coaches from all over Wales will be attending the National Coaching Seminar on September 23rd at Llandrindod Wells High School. The key speaker and practitioner will be Jeff Hammond, Glamorgan Head Coach, who will be demonstrating and discussing issues relating to match preparation, pre-match warm-up and fielding drills. The day is aimed at cricket coaches with a view to help them sharpen up some of their understanding and coaching styles when they return to coach today's young cricketers. Director of Cricket Mark Frost said: "We are really pleased that Jeff is so keen to meet and assist coaches operating in clubs and regions. His approach based on many years and also from an Australian viewpoint will be refreshing for many of our coaches. I know many are looking forward to being challenged in terms of player preparation techniques both cricket-wise, mentally and physically. This further emphasises the need for all aspects of cricket in Wales to come together and be mutually supportive. Jeff has especially delayed his return to Australia to be involved in this important seminar." The seminar will start at 10am on Sunday 23rd September and be held at Llandrindod Wells High School. Inclusive cost (lunch and morning coffee) is £12 per head. The programme will be:- 10-10.30 coffee 10.30 - 1 coaching session 1-2 lunch 2-3 Q&A session All applications to Brian Crockett, 51 Pine Valley, Cwmavon, Port Talbot, SA12 9NF.
