Runs galore for Paultons as US II go down

Chris James and Andy Collins cracked centuries as Paultons set a new Southern Electric Premier Division 3 scoring record, rattling up a huge 412-5 against hapless United Services II at Whitemoor Lane.
James notched his third century of the season, hitting 133 and shared a century fourth-wicket stand with Collins, who made an unbeaten 106 as Paultons re-wrote the record books.
Craig Williams hit back with a gallant 100 as US reached 201 all out in reply. The 211-run defeat sealed United Services fate, but who goes down with them ?
Leckford and Lymington II both won for only the second time this season, leaving Bashley (Rydal) and Waterlooville in deeper trouble.
Leckford squeezed out a one-wicket win over Waterlooville after Nigel Marriott (6-32) had reduced the visitors to 149 all out (Ian Farley 39).
Jason Carr hit 79 of Lymington's 236-9 (Martin Hunt 39), but then Trevor Phillips, who had earlier made a key 33, took 4-51 as Purbrook were bowled out for 227 (Graham McCoy 65).
Bashley (Rydal) were hit for 305-8 by Hook & Newnham Basics - Chris Hall (92) and Jan Kaminski (67) piling on the agony after an earlier half-century by Steve Shaw (57).
Only Joe Hall (44) really got to grips with the situation as Pete Bartlett (5-34) reduced the visitors to 184-9.
Still looking anxiously over their shoulders are Flamingo, who hit 18 runs off JJ Owen's final over at Havant, yet finished two run losers.
Phil Mist (53), John Owen (40), Matt Gover (35) and Shane Ferguson (32) all got runs at the top of the order as Havant reached 248-8.
Flamingo reached 109-2 off 25 overs, but despite the efforets of Gary Ferguson (57), Shane Merkel (36), Stu Shapland (35) and a late flurry by Adie Heath, finished two runs short at 244-9.
There's no change at the top, where an unbroken partnership between Paul Marks (78) and Raj Naik (74) carried leaders Winchester KS past Gosport Borough's 179-4 (Lee Wateridge 51).
Second-placed Rowledge enhanced their promotion claims with a two-wicket win at Hursley Park, whose 209-5 (Ben Smyth 48) looked as though it might be sufficient at one stage of the evening session.
When Chris Yates (51) departed at 131-5, it appeared as though Hursley might be on a winner, but Australian Craig Eichler (40) wrested the initiative away from the Winchester side.
Matt Perry-Lewis took 5-36 as Portsmouth II were restricted to 170-8 by St Cross Symondians, who raced to a nine-wicket win after a hefty opening stand between Mark Parker (85 not out) and Marc Rees (69).
New Milton's outside promotion dream ended with a one-wicket defeat at Alton, where the hosts scrambled past Milton's 205-9 (Lee Beck 44, Steve Watts 42) with just two balls to spare.
