Nikhil Chopra
Wisden CricInfo staff - July 5, 2001
Wisden overview An economical offspinner, a handy lower-order batsman and an adequate fielder, Nikhil Chopra is the archetypal bits-and-pieces cricketer. The proliferation of one-day internationals in the late 1990s gave him ample opportunity to display his talents, and while his contributions with the bat were minimal, Chopra revelled in his role as a containing bowler. His flat and accurate offspinners were ideal in the middle overs, especially on slow and low pitches on the subcontinent. Chopra's name kept cropping up during the match-fixing scandal, and he was dropped from the Indian squad, but he was subsequently cleared. He still plays for Delhi, and is still young enough to dream of an international comeback. S Rajesh
