PCB chief delighted with Old Trafford success 8 June 2001
Pakistan cricket officials were delighted with their team's tremendous fight back at Old Trafford which gave them a 108-run victory. "It has been an excellent team work. Every member of the squad deserves appreciation ," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Lt Gen Tauqir Zia said. Pakistan's victory helped them maintain their 14-year unbeaten record in England. "I think Pakistan played outstandingly throughout the Test. But the performance in the final session was something special which we will remember for a long, long time," he said. The general, however, said he was taking the tri-nation one-day series more seriously. "The one-day series will actually show what are our preparations for the 2003 World Cup, how to rectify our grey areas, which players will be available etc etc." © Dawn
