Court dismisses Salim's suit 19 June 2001
The civil suit filed by former Test captain Salim Malik against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and others has been dismissed. An intimation sent by the PCB has said that the first- class civil judge Muhammad Azam had observed in his judgement that the former Test cricketer had no cause of action against the board. The judgement says: "Salim Malik has no cause of action against PCB as the fine and the ban from playing inter national as well as domestic cricket was validly imposed". Asghar Haider appeared before the court representing PCB.
