Bob Massie
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 18, 2001
Wisden overview For five days in 1972, Bob Massie was the most-discussed cricketer in the world. With wicked late swing so pronounced it could only be harnessed from round the wicket, Massie took 16 for 137 on his Test debut at Lord's – a performance without precedent, and one Massie never went close to repeating. He obtained 15 wickets in five more Tests, then faded from view after a Caribbean tour the following year marred by illness. Massie could claim, however, to have had a significant impact on one other game, when his last-wicket stand of 83 with John Watkins in the third Test against Pakistan at Sydney in January 1973 proved pivotal in the game and the series.
