Colin Miller
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 19, 2001

Wisden overview
Colin Miller broke all the rules. After more than a decade as a journeyman seamer for three states and myriad club teams in England and Europe, he converted his best delivery, an artfully concealed slower ball, into an offspinner and broke the Sheffield Shield record for wickets in a season. Picked for the Test team at 34, he took his wickets at nearly four a match, including 10 in one against West Indies. As if that was not improbable enough, he was named Australia's Test player of 2000. An engaging character who seems to have struck upon the secret of eternal youth, "Funky" is an inveterate traveller and has been latterly distinguished for his hair dyes, most luridly Federation blue for the fifth Test against West Indies in 2000-01, a match which celebrated the centenary of Australia's nationhood.
