Paul Wiseman
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 27, 2001
Wisden overview Like Matt Horne and Mark Richardson, Paul Wiseman left Auckland (where John Bracewell was the dominant offspinner) to improve his career with Otago. With an orthodox and smooth bowling style, if lacking Bracewell's aggression, Wiseman has hovered on the fringe of the New Zealand side since 1998, but must wonder at the ways of national selectors. He bowled New Zealand to victory over Sri Lanka in 1998 with a seven-wicket haul, but did not become a regular player. He took eight wickets in a winning Test against Zimbabwe in 2000, but was not required in the three subsequent games against South Africa. Don Cameron
