Salim Altaf
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 27, 2001
Wisden overview Salim Altaf, commonly known as "Bobby", was one of Pakistan's last players before the fulltime professional era. As a conventional outswing bowler he was no great shakes and had no great speed: the one glorious moment that he had with his medium-paced outswingers was when he took four wickets for 11 at Headingley in 1971. But he was remarkable for being one of the first practitioners of reverse- swing, even though he had no idea why, when he came back for a second spell in Pakistan, the old ball started to swing in. A genial soul, he later became Pakistan's chairman of selectors. Scyld Berry
