Boucher sparkles again in Guyana MWP - 6 March 2001
South Africa piled on the runs during the third and final morning of their match against a Busta XI in Georgetown on Tuesday, scoring 127 for the loss of three wickets to reach lunch on 251 for six, an overall lead of 326 leaving the opposition little or no chance of victory. The day began poorly for the tourists, however, when Daryll Cullinan failed to add to his overnight score of 24 before lashing left-arm spinner Suliaman Benn into the covers where Tonito Willett held an unlikely catch diving full length to his left. Neil McKenzie failed to settle for the second time in the match, struggling for timing and never looking comfortable in scratching 16 runs from 62 balls before providing Willett with a far simpler catch in the covers off the bowling of seamer Ricky Christopher. Mark Boucher, however, was in sublime form for the second time in the match adding a rapid 48 from just 49 balls to his first innings score of 56. He opted predominantly for the straight drive where possible, launching himself through the line of the ball and striking seven fours and a six before holing out to long off. Lance Klusener continued the attacking theme with a bludgeoning 32 not out from 54 balls while and Nicky Boje was also ominously placed with an unbeaten 21 at lunch. © CricInfo
