Slater to play in second Test
AAP - 10 March 2001

Michael Slater will definitely play in the second cricket Test against India starting here tomorrow despite being found guilty of violating the International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct.

Slater has been given a one match ban, suspended for six months - meaning any further misdemeanour before September 9 will cost him a one match ban.

He has also been fined 50 per cent of his match fee for the second Test as punishment for commenting on match referee Cammie Smith's decision against him in the first Test.
