He began his cricket in Toowoomba. He represented Queensland Under 19 in 1990-91 and has since appeared for Queensland Colts, Queensland Academy of Sport, Queensland Second XI and for Queensland in first class and One Day cricket. Schools - Harristown State; Toowoomba Grammar. His father, Colin Roydon Seccombe was a prominent country cricketer and appeared for Queensland Country against West Indies at Mackay in 1968-69, while his uncle, Donald Harry Seccombe was also prominent in Country and grade cricket and made four first class appearances for Queensland.
