Foreign fielding coaches for academy 8 May 2001
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will hire two foreign fielding coaches for the National Cricket Academy here which resumes May 14. The chief coach of the academy, Mudassar Nazar, told reporters that besides the proficiency in cricketing skills, special emphasis will be laid in improving the English language of the cricketers. Mudassar said the first batch of academy students will pass out on Aug 25. He said each player of the national academy would a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000. Mudassar said the regional academies at Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad would also begin simultaneously on May 14. The launching of regional academies in Lahore and Quetta was delayed because of the non-availability of standard ground. He hinted that the Punjab regional academy was expected to start functioning at the Sheikhupura Stadium. © Dawn
