The sponsorship agreement will see Wellcome pump HK$720,000 into such projects
as the Playground League (inter primary school league and program), junior
Elementary Centre Program and Secondary Schools Development Program over the
course of the next three years.
"Cricket has developed substantially at grassroots level through our Cricket
Development Program with over 10,000 junior participants in our junior leagues and courses last year compared with just over 3,000 three years ago," said HKCA
President Mr Terry Smith. "We have demonstrated the effectiveness of HKCA's
junior cricket projects. The Wellcome Cricket Development Program will enable us to build further on the growing popularity of cricket in the local community," he continued.
