Pakistan Cricket board on Friday announced the names of the 20 players who will join the Regional Academy at Sheikhupura, which is to start functioning from June 1, 2001.

After the inauguration of the National Cricket Academy and Regional Academies at Karachi, Rawalpindi and Peshawar the start of the Regional Academy, Lahore at Sheikhupura will complete the phased programme of launching these academies.

The present term of the Regional Academy at Sheikhupura will last till August 25th 2001. Located at the Sheikhupura stadium, both the training and the lodging of the players will be at the same venue.

Former test players Shafiq Ahmed and Aqib Javed will be the coaches with Shafiq as the coach Incharge of the Academy. The selected players have been advised to report to Aqib javed at Sheikhupura Stadium on the May 31st afternoon.
