Cutting-Edge Technology Connects National Team to Canadians

OTTAWA – Nov. 13, 2001 – MONTAGE.DMC, a division of AT&T Canada Inc. (TSE: TEL.B and NASDAQ: ATTC) and a leader in the eBusiness Services marketplace, has committed to a donation of significant technological support and expertise to Web-enable COMMONWEALTH Games Canada (CGC) for the 2002 Commonwealth Games being held in Manchester, England from July 25 to Aug. 4, 2002. MONTAGE.DMC will provide expertise to create and manage Web-based applications for Canadian participants before and during the games, enabling Canadians and the media to receive up-to-the-minute results of our team's successes.

Together MONTAGE.DMC and CGC are creating and supporting Web-based applications for the CGC Web site. Athletes and coaches are able to securely input personal data, from which profiles are created and posted on the CGC Web site. This is the first time the CGC will post results online using this technology, allowing the Canadian public and media to be connected to the games and the country's athletic successes.

The Commonwealth Games provide an opportunity for Canadian athletes to compete at an international multi-sport competition. The 2002 Commonwealth include 17 sports: Aquatics (Diving, Swimming, Synchronized), Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Field Hockey (men and women), Gymnastics (Artistic), Judo, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis, Triathlon, Weightlifting, and Wrestling. Known as the "inclusive" Games, there will also be eight full medal events for athletes with a disability. Approximately 5,250 athletes and team officials from 70 countries will compete at these Commonwealth Games.
