Hampshire win annual quiz contest against the Saints.
Vic Isaacs - 22 November 2001
It is not all fitness and training that occupies Hampshire's cricketers during the winter months. Many are abroad in Australia and South Africa, but those that remain take up jobs either coaching at the Hampshire Academy or working for Companies with an eye at the end of their playing days.
However, Hampshire players continue to represent the club in a number of ways, and one of these is the annual Hampshire CCC v Southampton FC Question of Sport quiz held at The Mountbatten School, Romsey.
This year Will Kendall captained the succesful Hampshire side which included Laurence Prittipaul, Giles White and Director of Cricket Tim Tremlett. A good crowd of pupils, parents and teachers were kept entertained with the banter between the two sides. Saints captain Matt LeTissier, a veteran of these events was particularly sparking.
After a closely fought contest, Hampshire ran out winners by 59-52, to take a 9-6 lead in the 15 year old contest.
