PCB Chairman congratulates BCCI President Dalmiya Pakistan Cricket Board - 2 October 2001
The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Lt. Gen. Tauqir Zia while congratulating Jagmohan Dalmiya at assuming the office of President of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has hoped that it would usher in a new era in cricketing relations between the two countries. Mr. Dalmiya is a seasoned campaigner and brings with him vast experience of running cricket affairs. Dalmiya has been the President of ICC and is now working under the ACC as the head of the Asian Cricket Foundation, an initiative of Gen. Tauqir Zia. ACC is presently headed by PCB Chairman. "I have enjoyed immense relationship with Jaggu when he was the President of ICC and now as the head of ACF. Our views are similar on many issues, Tauqir Said". PCB Chairman lauded the efforts and keenness of the outgoing President Mr. A.C Muttiah in bringing closer the two cricketing nations of the sub-continent and supporting each other at the ICC forum. Unfortunately his efforts did not bear fruit as the Indian government refused to allow their team to play with Pakistan. "Muttiah was a gentleman and both of us had one voice at ICC, the General remarked".
PCB Chairman hoped that the two boards will continue to enjoy excellent realations as before. It is appropriate to expect that not only the cordial relations between our boards would reach a new level but world also help the entire Continent.
