Jamaican fast bowler, Franklyn Rose has arrived in Johannesburg to join the Highveld Strikers for the upcoming 2001/2002 season. The 29-year-old fast bowler started his International cricket career for the West Indies in 1996/1997. Since then he's represented Jamaica, Northamptonshire, the West Indies and has now arrived in Johannesburg to add the Highveld Strikers to his CV. Rose brings to the team his vast international experience, having played 19 Tests and 27 ODI's. He boasts a highest score of 69 and has taken a total of 53 Test wickets. "Professionalism, net practice and motivation are just some of the qualities that the Highveld Strikers will gain from him," said Director of Cricket Alan Kourie. He added, "We hope Franklyn will have a wonderful stay with us and that he'll learn a few tricks from our local talent!" Gauteng welcomes Rose as part of the Highveld Strikers and look forward to seeing him in action this coming weekend, when the Highveld Strikers take on Griquas in Kimberley.
