WP include Adams, Henderson in squad for Gauteng match Sports Staff - 9 October 2001
Western Province cricket selectors today selected both Paul Adams and Claude Henderson in their squad to play Gauteng in a Supersport Series match at the Wanderers starting on Friday. The same squad will do duty against North West a week later. Speaking at a weekly media briefing WP joint coach Eric Simons said WP expected a wicket tailored for pace considering the make up of the Gauteng attack. "We are fortunate to have a strong seam and spin attack" Simons said. He added that the Province attack was primed to keep the pressure on the opposition at all times. "Yesterday Alan Dawson took-up the cudgels against Easterns when Paul(Adams) started to struggle". Simons said he expected the Gauteng attack to revolve around West Indian Franklyn Rose and David Terbrugge.
Nashua WP squad; The WP selectors also announced the BWP Bowl team to play Nambia in a 3-day and a limited over match in Windhoek from 11-14 October. Bbowl coach said the team would be minus several top players either due to injury or exams. Missing are JP Duminy(exams), Jonathan McLean, Hassen Pangarkar and Ryan Baily due to injury.
