Well, what a suprise and honour to be named as the replacement England captain for Nasser Hussain in Zimbabwe. The ultimate accolade for me, it's always been a dream of mine, and long term goal for me during my whole life, so you can just imagine how it felt for me to lead out the England senior team as captain.

The night before the match I must admit that I didn't get much sleep as I was so excited and I had so many ideas buzzing in my head.

I was even more delighted later on that day to be the winning captain, and hope we can go on to win the series winning 5 - 0. It is a tremendous feeling to be a part of a successful tour, even though it is only a brief one.

The rest of the team are all looking good, playing well and our confidence levels have obviously risen a lot. The atmosphere in the dressing room is one of excitement and the whole team are all bonding and working well together.

I'm now looking forward to the next leg of the winter and hopefully to getting more big scores myself. I have been working very hard and feel as fit and strong as I ever have.

During the forthcoming summer I will be giving Jamie Cox an ocassional rest by taking over the Somerset captaincy, which I will enjoy. A perfect opportunity for me to learn more as a Captain and to lead my Somerset team mates.
