PCB finalises Vision-2005, reviews domestic cricket and accepts Marketing Consultant resignation Pakistan Cricket Board - 19 October 2001
Chairman PCB, Lt Gen Tauqir Zia on Friday reviewed the complete and revised Vision-2005 document at a high level meeting held at PCB Head office Gaddafi Stadium. The approved document is likely to be released in about a fortnight. The Chairman also held a meeting with the members of senior selection committee and senior cricket officials to review the performance of players based on domestic cricket tournament matches played so far. Plans for future were also discussed. Another meeting was held with the junior selection committee to review the performance of Grade-II competitions in domestic cricket. The selectors submitted their observations especially about the new talent discovered during the matches. The training and future plans of the Under-19 were also discussed. Iqbal Qasim gave an update to the Chairman on the overall domestic season, currently in progress and new rules introduced for the fresh departmental entries in the Grade-II domestic competition. Iqbal Qasim has also been nominated as the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee. The Marketing Consultant of the PCB, who had requested the Chairman for relieving him of his assignment due to personal reasons, has been released. Chairman PCB expressed his appreciation for the services rendered by him and wished him best of luck in his future endeavours. Chairman has also directed for the appointment of a suitable marketing set up for the PCB.
